Your organization has powerful stories to share. The harder part is telling them with equal parts craft and care.
Most organizations are sitting on stories that could transform how people see them, and how they see themselves. The problem isn't access to those stories. It's knowing how to enter them ethically, shape them honestly, and bring them into the world without using the people at the center of them.
I help mission-driven organizations get it right — the strategy, the story, the film — with Emmy Award-winning experience and a practice built on helping people feel seen and celebrated.
The best stories start with characters.
My work starts with people.
You already do powerful work and have powerful stories to tell. Stories that live inside your organization, in the communities you serve, in the moments that made you who you are.
These stories can be sensitive. The people at the center of them, your patients, community members, the folks your mission was built for aren’t resources to be mined. (And they’re not resources to be mined nicely, either). They're real people. And sometimes, when the conditions are right, they can become a mirror for the value of your work and brand.
When people feel safe and seen in front of a camera, you can tell the difference. I create and protect those conditions — in both process and in craft — so that people can show up more fully as themselves. What gets reflected back has the power to inspire, redefine, and remind why you do this work to begin with.
I help mission-driven organizations tell the stories that matter.
I bring award-winning documentary experience and deep care for the people I work with, clients and subjects alike. What I’ve discovered, and what I now believe, is that creating the conditions where the people at the center of a story feel safe enough to share something true doesn’t compromise the craft. It’s actually what gets you the real stuff. Something that can empower, enliven, reorient, inspire those both in front of and behind the camera.
At minimum, you get extraordinary content. But the organizations I most want to work with are the ones who want the work to allow that work to change them, too.
My background in journalism gave me the rigor. More than a decade in the field — but time spent at the bedside as an end-of-life doula has given me something journalism alone couldn’t: a practice built on the conviction that how a story is gathered matters as much as what it looks like.
Award-Winning Craft
Two Emmy wins. Eleven nominations. Hundreds of hours in the field with people navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives (and the institutional trust that comes from doing that work carefully, at the high level, for a long time).
